Executive Housekeeper

Principle Responsibilities & Position Purpose:

Oversee and ensure overall cleanliness of the hotel in accordance with Department of Health, Hotel, and Corporate standards. To ensure all safety procedures are adhered to, and follow all appropriate policies and procedures are adhered to, and follow all appropriate policies and procedures while constantly striving to improve all standards of operation. Ensure prompt and courteous service to guests, and to ensure that all guest experiences are distinctively supreme.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Select, train, supervise, schedule, develop, discipline, conduct performance appraisals, and counsel team members according to Edward Village Worldwide policies and procedures.

Coordinate with GM and Chief Engineer in the repair and maintenance program as it relates to guest   rooms and public areas.

Maintain inventory of guest rooms and housekeeping supplies including all month end inventories. Maintain lost and found log.

Purchase all basic cleaning supplies, linen, and equipment.

Monitor payroll hours and reports and complete reports (ie, forecasts, annual budgets, plans and action, etc.)

Ensure property operation meets internal audit standards.

Demonstrate positive leadership characteristics that inspire team members to meet and exceed standards, and promote team member empowerment.

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.

Attends, as well as schedules and conducts departmental meetings.

Perform in the capacity of any position supervised to include cross training.

Reports all unsafe conditions immediately.

Keep work area neat and organized.

Must maintain a good working relationship with other departments, team members and guests.

OTHER DUTIES

Assimilate into The Edward Village Worldwide culture through understanding, supporting and participating in all elements of the Brand. Demonstrate working knowledge of the service standards.

Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Edward Village from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required when performing work duties that may have the potential of risk to your health or safety. The hotel will provide the required PPE. Team members will be trained in the proper use and care of any assigned PPE. It is your responsibility to report defective, damaged or lost PPE, or equipment that does not fit properly, to your Manager.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Two years prior housekeeping management experience

Knowledge of inventories, scheduling, and productivity

Ability to communicate in Spanish helpful

Knowledge of laundry process

High School math level required

Ability to communicate effectively with the public and other team members

Read, write, and speak English fluently

Ability to effectively manage time

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS EDUCATION

Minimum of 2-year college (associate) degree preferred

EXPERIENCE

2-year prior housekeeping management

All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance. Specific uniform guidelines and/or required articles of clothing will be explained to you as a part of the orientation process.
